About the event
Join us for a hands-on mushroom identification class in a beautiful San Francisco park (location to be announced). Together, we’ll explore and learn to identify local mushrooms like porcini, chanterelles, oyster, and turkey tail. This class is all about observing mushrooms in their natural habitats—learning which trees they grow with, the conditions they thrive in, and how to spot them. While we won’t be picking, and finding mushrooms isn’t guaranteed, you’ll leave with the knowledge to identify and appreciate them on your own. Afterward, enjoy a mushroom-themed grazing platter and Ambre’s expert tips on how to cook and savor the seasonal bounty.
Note: It is illegal to harvest wild mushrooms in San Francisco. This is why we are not picking in this workshop. But you will be educated so that you can go out and pick mushrooms if you choose to.
