About the event
Join us for a guided mushroom foraging walk focused on the edible mushrooms of Santa Cruz. You’ll learn how to confidently identify seasonal species in the field, understand the trees and habitats they grow with, and build real identification skills you can use on your own.
Along the way, we’ll also point out other seasonal wild foods that share the same landscape, offering added context to the broader ecosystem that supports these mushrooms. Our walk may take place in areas where harvesting will be restricted, but you will learn exactly where and how you can legally forage on your own. Expect a hands on, observation based walk with open discussion, habitat awareness, and clear guidance on regulations and safe practices.
