Step into the evocative world of scent with perfumer, biologist, and artist Jennifer Berry in this immersive two-hour workshop. Just as a chef builds flavor, a perfumer composes scent—starting with memory, mood, and place. Whether it’s the sea-washed edge of the Pacific, the heady bloom of jasmine in summer air, or the sweet smoke of a grandfather’s pipe- all great perfumes start with a personal story.
Jennifer’s approach blends natural history with sensory art. With her deep knowledge of West Coast flora, pollinators, and wild ecology—and access to her perfume lab filled with rare and beautiful materials—she’ll guide you through the fundamentals of fragrance-building. You’ll learn how to smell like a perfumer, explore natural and synthetic scent materials, and discover how to layer them into a perfume that captures this moment in time.
