Building a scent is not so different from building a culinary creation. You start with deeply personal inspiration - a place you love - perhaps the ocean edge, lined with lupine, a memory of jasmine and pipe smoke from your grandparents home; or a redwood forest. Or just a smell that beckons or beguiles you. For this event you'll join Jennifer Berry, who not only has a lovely, secret perfume lab filled with a library of scents, but also has intimate knowledge of local flora and fauna. She'll lead you through the basics of creating a scent from nature in her perfumery lab. You'll learn how to layer aromatic oils, essential compounds and fixatives to create your own signature scent to take home with you.
