Perfumes Inspired by Nature with Secret Scent Lab

Building a scent is not so different from building a culinary creation. You start with deeply personal inspiration - a place you love - perhaps the ocean edge, lined with lupine, a memory of jasmine and pipe smoke from your grandparents home; or a redwood forest. Or just a smell that beckons or beguiles you. For this event you'll join Jennifer Berry, who not only has a lovely, secret perfume lab filled with a library of scents, but also has intimate knowledge of local flora and fauna. She'll lead participants on a scent exploration, where you'll experience nature through this sense that's often underutilized. You'll learn about the art and history of different materials, how to group and layer them, and even create your own seasonal scent to take home with you.
