Spring Greens: A Wild Food Walk
Sat, Mar 21
|East Bay
The trails are full of food right now. Most people just don't know it yet.

Time & Location
Mar 21, 2026, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
East Bay
About the event
Most people walk the same trails every week without realizing they're surrounded by food. Spring changes that. The land is putting out some of its best work right now: miner's lettuce, wood sorrel, chickweed, cleavers. Once you know what to look for, you can't unsee it.
On this walk, we'll move slowly and look closely. You'll learn to identify the edible plants coming up around you, understand the habitats they favor, and build the kind of eye that makes every future walk a little more interesting. We'll talk about how to harvest responsibly, what these plants taste like, and how people have been eating them for a very long time.
We'll end with a tasting, because nothing cements an ID quite like putting it in your mouth.
