Sat, Jun 27

The berries are coming! Thimble berries are ripening, blackberries are on their way. Cherry plums are dropping from the trees. Learn to forage these with Maria and then turn them into jams and compotes with chef Stephanie Rosenbaum. (Photo by Marla Aufmuth)

About the event
When fruit comes into season, it tends to take off with abundance, and the best way to preserve it is by making jams. We'll take a one mile hike through a wooded area rich with berries and plums and then learn how to make jams and compotes with local ingredients. Everyone leaves with two small mason jars of wild preserves and recipes and know-how on how to forage and jam your own local fruit.
