About the event
At Flora & Fungi we are super excited to collaborate with Anna Monet Jewelry. Anna is an innovator in ethical jewelry design and keeps ecological and human impact at the forefront. They intentionally incorporate biodegradable materials used in ancient times such as horsehair purchased from Native American traders along with hand-mixed, all natural dyes. Her work is meant as an exploration of innovative design that also celebrates traditional craft and the symbolism of our human connection to the earth.Â
For this workshop, we'll have a guided hike with Maria and talk about the natural history of the Marin Headlnds. We'll then do a short meditation and visualization with Anna to prepare for crafting jewelry. Participants will be encouraged to bring old jewelry from home that we can share and upcycle. We'll also have wildcrafted dyed fabrics, shells, and other natural objects to create from along with silver chains, drills and other jewelry making tools. We'll finish the event with a wild foods grazing table inspired by the region.Â
